I Lived With 15 Years of Anxiety and 20 Panic Attacks a Day.

I’m Jordan Hardgrave. I know what it feels like when your nervous system never lets you rest. It started after a bad experience with marijuana right after high school. One massive panic attack, and my body never felt safe again. The panic came in waves. I couldn’t eat. I lost 20 pounds. I isolated completely. At my worst I was having around 20 panic attacks a day, and the constant anxiety on top of it made me feel like I was losing my mind.

I lived with generalized anxiety for 15 years. Constant dread. A nervous system that never fully settled. The kind of anxiety that quietly runs in the background of everything you do, always waiting for the next wave. At times it even showed up as that unreal, detached feeling some people call depersonalization, but the root was always the same.

Early on, I discovered acceptance techniques, and the symptoms eventually faded. But I hadn’t addressed what was happening in my body, so the relief didn’t last. The anxiety and panic came back, worse than before.

I tried everything I could find: distraction, positive self-talk, grounding exercises, breathing techniques, supplements, cold showers. Nothing worked. I was trying to use my mind to solve a problem that lived in my body.
